Spartan Titan Pro Surface Mount Tennis Net Posts Overview
The Spartan Titan Pro Surface Mount Tennis Net Posts bolt directly to existing concrete — no excavation, no core-drilling, no demolition. The 3″ square profile, paired with a 7″ x 7″ base plate, gives the post a wide, stable footprint that handles real regulation tennis tension day after day. They’re built for community centers, rooftop courts, school facilities, and private residential courts where the concrete is already in place.
If you need a traditional in-ground option for new construction, browse our full tennis net posts catalog. The Spartan Titan Pro Surface Mount delivers the same build quality as our in-ground Titan Pro — same 11-gauge USA steel, same stainless winder, same dual-surface galvanization with clear passivation seal. The only difference is how the post connects to the court.
Spartan Titan Pro Three-Layer Corrosion Protection
Surface-mount posts have a specific weak point: water tends to pool at the base near the mounting plate, slowly working its way up the interior wall of the tube. Standard posts only coat the exterior, which leaves the interior wide open to that trapped moisture. The Spartan Titan Pro Surface Mount applies zinc galvanization to both the interior and exterior walls, blocking corrosion on every surface where water collects.
After the zinc layer, we apply a clear passivation seal that locks the galvanization in place and prepares the steel for the powder coat. Over that, we add a baked-on polyester powder coat that handles UV exposure and resists surface chipping. Three distinct layers, each doing its own job — which is why these posts hold up in coastal air, Southern humidity, and high-use facilities where exterior-only finishes start showing rust after a few seasons.
Did You Know?
Brass is roughly half the hardness of stainless steel on the Rockwell scale. That’s why brass winder gears strip and round off years before stainless gears show any wear.
Spartan Titan Pro 11-Gauge USA Construction
The Spartan Titan Pro Surface Mount uses 11-gauge USA steel — 14% thicker walls than the 12-gauge tubing on most surface-mount posts. Square tubing is inherently more rigid than round tubing of the same wall thickness, which makes 11-gauge the right gauge for this format: enough wall to handle real tennis tension, paired with the structural geometry that does the rest of the work. Combined with the 7″ x 7″ base plate footprint, the post stays plumb under the steady load of a tightened regulation tennis net.
Spartan Titan Pro Enclosed Stainless Winder
The Spartan Titan Pro Surface Mount uses a self-locking stainless steel internal winder for net tensioning. Stainless steel gears are significantly harder than brass, so the teeth resist stripping and wear under the high torque of cranking a regulation tennis net taut. The full gear set sits enclosed inside the post body, which protects the mechanism from rain, dust, and incidental contact with players going for wide balls. Smooth net adjustments, season after season, regardless of weather.
Spartan Titan Pro Surface Mount Installation
The 7″ x 7″ base plate seats firmly on any stable concrete surface, with pre-drilled holes that give contractors or maintenance crews a clean alignment from the first bolt. The post length is engineered to put the net at exact regulation 42-inch height once the base plate is anchored — no measuring or shimming required. A level concrete pad and standard concrete anchors are all you need to set up a regulation tennis court.
Can I install these on asphalt?
Not recommended. Asphalt is too soft and flexes too much under load to hold anchors reliably — even specialty asphalt anchors tend to work loose over time. If you only have an asphalt court, the better option is one of our in-ground tennis net posts, which are set in a concrete footing below the playing surface. That gives you a permanent anchor independent of the asphalt above.
